aint no hill for a stepper Matthew 17 20

We have a saying in Texas, “ain’t no hill for a stepper”. The crux of the saying, is that there is no problem or mountain big enough that can’t be conquered by an overcomer. The key to overcoming or removing the obstacle in your life is letting God be your Victor. God calls us to be overcomers, and He Himself assumes the duty of removing hindrances and obstacles enabling our success.

Matthew 17:20 “You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”

Life is full of obstacles, great and small. They can be overwhelming. The fear of a problem, is sometimes greater than the problem itself. With our human eyes we look at problems many times as great mountains. They will always seem unclimbable and unreachable if you focus on them instead of your faith in God.  If you focus on the problem in front of you, God looks small, but if you focus on God the problem that you are facing will become small. Your problems are smaller than the smallest grain of sand before the eyes of God.

Trust in the wisdom of God for your life; don’t be afraid—you’re not going to be consumed by what you are facing. Step out in faith; you’re not going to fail; it is all up to you to believe and trust in God. He is looking for you to just believe, and follow His instructions. If you can believe and simply trust Him, He will be your Overcomer, if you will just have faith in Him and step up and step out. He will perform miracles in your life.

God will move your mountains of past failures, your mountains of illness, your mountains of stressed income, your mountains of marital problems. Whatever mountain stands before you, God stand willing and ready to perform on your behalf. All you have to do is believe. It is our human nature to dwell on our problems, weaknesses and failures. It is our spiritual nature to have faith in God for our victory, strength and success.

Thoughts of fear and failure bombard our minds. We think, “How am I going to get through this? Where the world is the money going to come from? How will I ever overcome this sickness? ”How will my marriage ever stay together”? That is our thinking, not God’s.  When we are stuck seeing things from our viewpoint, we need to be reminded of the words of the Psalmist, “The battle is not mine; it’s the Lord’s.” See your problem, give it over to God, trust Him, and He will act upon it.

In Acts the 17th chapter we read in His Word, that in Him we live and move and have our being, and that we are his offspring. We are the offspring of the Almighty God in Christ Jesus. We must boldly believe step out in faith, and with confidence and trust, call upon God to move the mountains in our lives.

It is nothing for God to move and remove huge mountains and obstacles that are in our way. He will reach out His mighty hand and move whatever it is that seems too big, too heavy and too large in our life. Ain’t no hill for a stepper – Let God be your Stepper.
