Somehow, I think the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is finally about to get a taste of its own medicine. They are those that call good evil and evil, good. In a stunning display of hypocrisy by the ultimate hate group, the SPLC has refused to label the fascist group ANTIFA as a “hate group” while labeling Christians, anti-abortionists and anti-Islamic jihads as “hateful.”
The latest comes from President of the SPLC Richard Cohen, who told the Washington Examiner that the group is “wrongheaded” in opposing free speech and using violence, something quite funny for those claiming to be anti-fascists while engaging in fascist behavior, but said, ““We think they are contributing to the problem we are seeing.”
“We think it’s likely to lead to other forms of retaliation,” Cohen added. “In Berkeley, antifa showed up and shut down speeches. The next time the white supremacists brought the Oath Keepers with them, they brought their own army.”
By the way, they don’t label Black Lives Matter as a hate group either and they are often engaging in similar tactics to ANTIFA.
In 2008, former SPLC spokesman Mark Potok explained the criteria for labeling a “hate group.”
“Our criteria for a ‘hate group,’ first of all, have nothing to do with criminality, or violence, or any kind of guess we’re making about ‘this group could be dangerous.’ It’s strictly ideological.”
Here’s the criteria: “So we look at a group and we say, ‘Does this group, in its platform statements, or the speeches of its leader or leaders — Does this group say that a whole group of people, by virtue of their group characteristics, is somehow less?”
So, what is the reasoning behind the SPLC not labeling ANTIFA a hate group when our own Homeland Security has labeled them domestic terrorists?
According to Cohen, it’s because adherents do not discriminate against people on the basis of race, sexual orientation or other classes protected by anti-discrimination laws, such as religion.
“There might be forms of hate out there that you may consider hateful, but it’s not the type of hate we follow,” Cohen said.
Oh, it’s a “different kind of hate” that Cohen is interested in. Are there really different kinds of hate? I think not, but the reality is that ANTIFA does have that kind of hatred.
ANTIFA members have attacked Black Lives Matter protesters, as well as white supremacists, the latter usually feeling the brunt of their cowardice as they don covers for their faces because of how proud they are of their own stupidity in opposing fascism while engaging in it themselves.
And if that was not enough, they don’t mind talking down to, harassing and cursing at America’s disabled veterans. Take a look (Warning: Language).
These rebellious thugs needed a lot of spankings growing up, but it appears their parents abandoned them, probably to work a lot of jobs to give them a “higher education,” cable tv, a new car and of course, a cell phone.
The SPLC is most notable famous for providing a map to the Family Research Council and showing their own hatred of those that promoted biblical marriage between a man and woman and condemning sodomy and lesbianism and redefining marriage to include those engaged in that behavior.
That little stunt by SPLC led Floyd Corkins to enter the building and attempt to kill multiple people and want to smear Chik-fil-a sandwiches in their faces in protest of Chick-fil-a’s stand against the redefinition of marriage.
SPLC never apologized for their role in egging on the hate of Mr. Corkins or others.
They have never apologized for ruining the good name of many good people who speak out against the evil in society.
In fact, it is their goal to destroy such people and groups.
“Sometimes the press will describe us as monitoring hate groups, I want to say plainly that our aim in life is to destroy these groups, completely destroy them,” – SPLC former spokesman Mark Potok
Potok would go on to say, “We see this political struggle. We’re not trying to change anybody’s mind. We’re trying to wreck the groups. We’re trying to destroy them. Not to send them to prison unfairly or to take their free speech rights away, but as a political matter to destroy them.”
Well, if that’s how it is, then I say that those on the hate list and those who hold the ideology of those on the hate list should band together and completely destroy the SPLC once and for all.
And that may just happen sooner than you think.
They may just get a taste of their own medicine in the new lawsuit that has been filed on behalf of D. James Kennedy Ministries.
D. James Kennedy Ministries filed the lawsuit two weeks ago in federal court in Alabama after it was listed alongside neo-Nazis and white supremacists on SPLC’s “hate map.”
According to the suit, the group claims that the SPLC “illegally trafficked in false and misleading descriptions of the services” offered by the ministry, subjecting it to “disgrace, ridicule, odium, and contempt in the estimation of the public.”
“These false and illegal characterizations have a chilling effect on the free exercise of religion and on religious free speech for all people of faith,” said president and CEO Frank Wright.
Would to God that more people and organizations would jump on board with this lawsuit and not reach a settlement with SPLC except to see them permanently out of business.
I don’t know what it’s going to take before Americans wake up and rid our society of known liars and provocateurs like the SPLC, but I think that time is coming sooner rather than later.
