When I first heard of these guys, I thought – why would the old rock group Procol Harum be in the kidnapping business? It must be some group with the same name. I’m not making a joke. I really did think that, for a second.

Boko HaramBut this situation is no laughing matter. The group, Boko Haram, are savages – the worst kind of human debris. They are indeed terrorists by any definition.

n Nigeria, they travel from village to village indiscriminately killing people. That’s not exactly accurate. They don’t kill everyone. Evidently, their main purpose is the kidnapping and sale school-age girls into slavery. Oh, and did I mention they are Islamic jihadists. What a shock, eh?

And to who do you think they sell these girls off? That’s right – to other Muslims. Once again, it’s the great religion of peace that has somehow spawned another terrorist gang.

It’s funny how we never hear of roving bands of Jews, Christians, Buddhists or Hindus shooting up villages and the abducting hundreds of innocent schoolgirls to sell into slavery.

From reports, the count is up to 300 girls.

Recently, the International Business Times reported of an attack by the group on the Nigerian village Gamboru Ngala. Apparently, Boko Haram had waited until Nigerian security forces moved out of the town before commencing their attack. The result was carnage, with most of the town’s buildings completely destroyed and dead bodies littering the streets.

The gang had abducted 273 girls from the village of Chibok and another 11 from Warabe. Thus far, the reward for information on the girl’s whereabouts is approaching a half $1 million.

The group dubs themselves the “Nigerian Taliban” and wishes to institute Sharia law. Why am I not surprised? The name Boko Haram translates to “Western education is sinful,” and so far, they have been linked to over 10,000 deaths since 2002.

Their leader, Abubakar Shekau, exclaimed on video that, “I abducted your girls. I will sell them in the market, by Allah.”

Boko Haram 1Evidently, abduction is not their only goal. Another goal is to target and kill any Christians in the region. Again, why am I not surprised?

Security experts from Britain, France and the United States are being dispatched to try to recover the girls.

I consider myself a peace-loving individual and would normally say that this isn’t our problem, and indeed it is not our problem. We shouldn’t get involved, and maybe our government shouldn’t get involved.

But frankly, I feel differently about 300 innocent schoolgirls being sold off to dirty, pedophile Islamists as slaves and concubines, be they American or not.

Maybe this is just such a case to bring back the practice of Privateering: Hire a team of ex-military private contractors to go in. They could do the job a lot more covertly, more efficiently and a lot less expensively than government military advisers. Plus – they would, in all likelihood, get the job done. This would be part of the Constitutional provision of letters of marque and reprisal.

Given how I feel about this particular incident, I would charge them with two tasks. First and foremost: recover the girls and return them to safety. Second: I think you know where I’m going with this – wipe out the entire Boko Haram – I mean with extreme prejudice! Leave no man standing.

Make an example of them to the world so that others may think twice before attempting such a heinous act.

They want carnage – give them carnage.

I seek first the kingdom of Christ because everything else in this world is perishing. All that I have is from God who is always faithful. I have worked hard all my life and will continue as long as God lends me breath. The mistakes and bad judgments I made in my life all stemmed from me trying to work things out by myself. I have learned the hard way that the victory over all of my problems and the answers to all of my desires lie solely in my Savior, Jesus Christ.

It is now my desire to share the words that God gives me to encourage and give hope to others who need the strength that only faith in Christ can give.
