The Number of Christian Voters Decreased in the Voter List of Election 2013.

It’s very important to bring to the attention of the International Community and Media, the fact that the Christian population has grown to 13% in Pakistan. We claim that in 1947 at the Independence of Pakistan, 5% quota in government services was allocated to Christians because they were 5% of the population of Pakistan. The issue of the census of Christians has been raised on all forums by the Christians of Pakistan. The Muslim majority adopted measures to hide the true figures of Christians in Pakistan to avoid their due share in the state resources. In 1971, when East Pakistan emerged as the new state of Bangladesh, the majority wing of Muslim population in Pakistan, the population percentage of Christians raised up to 10% of the population.(Thank you, Pakistan Christian Congress)

Why Did the Number of Christians Decrease in Election 2013? There are mulitple[p reasons why the number of Christians are rapidly decreasing in Pakistan. Persecution is on the rise along with Discrimination Why are their numbers is decreasing? Double face of Christians in Pakistan. See this National Identity Card:

This is a Christian woman whose husband converted to Islam during his job, so they were Muslims in the eyes of his colleagues and they also changed their record of NADRA as Muslim from Christian. After his death she got another ID card with her real Christian name and with her Christian DATA OF NADRA. Her Children also possessed Christian Data in NADRA, when both ID Cards expired she went to the respective department for taking her pension, but they refused saying to renew her ID card. When she went to NADRA, they refused to re-issue her a new ID Card because she already was issued an ID Card. She came to us for legal assistance in this matter.

This is not only family,  there are a number of Christian families who are living in Pakistan in double face. In the last Punjab Government, a similar well known incident took place when MPA Rana Asif Mahmood was summoned by the courts to answer a petition seeking his disqualification from his Punjab Assembly seat reserved for minorities on the grounds that NADRA identified him as a Muslim in its records.

Changing Religion for Marriage

A large number of young Christians are converting from Christianity to Islam to get married when pressured by parents who do not agree with their marriage.

Now we have questions. Who is responsible? Whose is duty is it to handle such issues? Is this only political issue? Is there any one who wishes to work on these projects? Who will give funds for such kinds of projects? How many Muslims are accepting Jesus in Pakistan? Is the Church doing its assigned vision of the Gospel? Is the Church really sleeping? Who will be first drop of rain???

If you can be a part of the solution, contact with LEAD.

As Abraham Lincoln said,

If by the mere force of numbers, a majority should deprive a minority of any clearly written constitutional right, it might, in a moral point of view, justify a revolution.

The Legal Evangelical Association Development (LEAD) organization has been asking for much needed financial and moral support to continue defending Pakistan’s minority Christians. Many of their clients are very poor and unable to afford legal services. Due to this fact, many incidents go unreported, causing them to be under constant abuse from their oppressors. LEAD Advocates offer free legal aid and assistance to those who are  persecuted and unable to pay. LEAD is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organization dedicated to working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice.

Now with recent death threats to the National Director of LEAD-Advocate Sardar Mushtaq M.Gill, they need our prayers and support even more. When we think of Pakistan here in the U.S. and other western nations, many of us never think of Christians, or Christianity in Pakistan. We recall the events of Osama Bin Laden, or the terrorist acts of Islamic extremists. Please remember Pakistani Christians and the team at the LEAD organization that are so dedicated to these brothers and sisters being persecuted!

LEAD is asking for moral support and to please stand with us so that we can fight well for the war of faith.

In Christ,

LEAD

One small voice cries out for the Persecuted Church. More than 100,000,000 Christians around the world are at risk of persecution. It has become one of the worst humanitarian crises on the planet, today! It is ”a crisis point in history” that can no longer be overlooked, or millions more will suffer! Sadly it’s a crisis that not enough people realize exists. Unfortunately the western media rarely reports the extreme persecution inflicted on our Christian brothers and sisters, worldwide. We are called by our God to stand up for all who are destitute, to remember the prisoners as if imprisoned ourselves and to be a VOICE for the persecuted Church! Join us, we CAN make a difference!
